Non-conventional energy meet to be held in Nagpur
The ministry of non-conventional energy sources is holding its national programme in Nagpur this time.
Union Minister of State for Non-Conventional Energy Sources (independent charge), Vilas Muttemwar, said that an exhibition of new and renewable energy systems, such as solar lights, solar cookers, wind mills and bio-mass gassifiers would be organised for three days from 20th August at Nagpur.
The programme includes events and competitions for school children. The programme at Nagpur would also be marked by a 2I km national half marathon for men and women. Athletes from Air Force, Army, Railways and winners in other events have confirmed their entries. The marathon will be flagged off by Maharashtra chief minister Vilasrao Deshmukh.
Apart from the national programme at Nagpur, the events will be held at state, district, and tehsil/taluka level to carry the message about the use of renewable energy to the masses. For this purpose, state nodal departments for renewable energy have been roped in by the ministry to organise various events.
