NHPC to shut Salal HeP Project on July 17

JAMMU: Salal Hydro-electric Power Project in Reasi district of Jammu and Kashmir is being shut down on July 17 to check its functioning.

" NHPC is taking shut down of Salal Bus Bars for reservoir flushing to check the functioning of Local Breaker Back Protection (LBB) protection at Salal Power House on July 17 from 8.00 AM to 6.00 PM," an official spokesman said.

It is likely to disturb power availability position in the State,he said.

J&K State Power Development Department shall use all possible means to meet the shortage of power due to shutdown of this power house but occasional curtailment in some areas being fed from Gladni Grid Station might become unavoidable, he said.

General public is requested to cooperate and use power judiciously, the spokesman said.
