NHPC signs pact for 3 power projects in Uttaranchal

National Hydroelectric Power Corporation Ltd (NHPC) has signed implementation agreements with Uttaranchal government for three hydroelectric projects having a total installed capacity of 1,045 MW.

NEW DELHI: National Hydroelectric Power Corporation Ltd (NHPC) has signed implementation agreements with Uttaranchal government for three hydroelectric projects having a total installed capacity of 1,045 MW.

The agreements, which were signed on June 8 at Dehradun, envisages the implementation of three hydroelectric projects, namely Kotli Bhel-IA (195 MW), Kotli Bhel-IB (320 MW) and Kotli Bhel-II (530 MW), NHPC said in a statement.

NHPC is also involved in developing hydro power potential in Uttaranchal with its 120 MW Tankapur Power Station and 280 MW Dhauliganga Power Station supplying electricity to the northern grid, it said.

The agreements have been described by NHPC as a move that would provide major boost to the power sector in the state.
