Nathpa Jhakri declares dividend of Rs 235 cr

India's largest 1,500 MW Nathpa Jhakri Hydro Power Project has declared a dividend of Rs 235 crore for the fiscal 2006-07.

SHIMLA: India's largest 1,500 MW Nathpa Jhakri Hydro Power Project has declared a dividend of Rs 235 crore for the fiscal 2006-07.

The dividend will be shared between equity partners of the company -- Government of India and Government of Himachal Pradesh -- in the ratio of 75 per cent and 25 per cent, Deputy General Manager V K Verma said in a release on Saturday.

The central government will get Rs 176.25 crore, while Himachal government will corner Rs 58.75 crore.

The hydro-power station has posted a net profit of Rs 732.71 crore in the fiscal, 47 per cent higher than the previous year.

The company has already paid an interim dividend of Rs 50 crore to the Union government and Rs 16.67 crore to the Himachal government, he added.
