Authorities were forced to ' cold shutdown' the reactor after it tripped yesterday following a fault in the generator transformer high voltage bushing.
"Work is on since yesterday morning to check whether fault is outside the transformer or inside. The unit can be restarted if it is an outside fault.
This will take one month. But, if it is inside, then it may take more time," MAPS Station Director T J Kotteeswaran said.
