‘Make in India’, rural electrifiaction to push up power demand: Piyush Goyal

NEW DELHI: Demand for electricity will increase manifold with implementation of central schemes like ‘ Make in India’ and rural electrification, Power Minister Piyush Goyal said on Friday.

Goyal said the power sector in India is focusing on environment sustainability and NTPC has taken a lead by preserving the flora and fauna in and around its power stations.

The government aims to increase use of clean technologies and renewable energy for power generation, Goyal said.
