Lanco Amarkantak plant begins power supply to Haryana discoms
Lanco Infratech on Monday announced resumption of power supply to Haryana from its domestic coal-based 300-Mw Amarkantak power plant in Chhattisgarh.
“The resumption of power supply to Haryana discoms is going to be profit assertive for us in the coming quarters as it will double the revenues of Lanco Amarkantak to around Rs 1,200 crore,” Lanco chairman L Madhusudhan Rao said on Monday.
He said the development will help increase the firm’s EBITDA by around Rs 200 crore for full year of operations.
Unit-2 of the 1,800-Mw Amarkantak project had stopped power generation about two years ago following litigations — first with the Haryana government over power tariffs and later with Coal India subsidiary South Eastern Coalfields over coal supplies.
The plant is fully operational now. Shares of Lanco Infratech gained more than 5% on Monday to close at Rs 6.49 on the BSE. The shares had gained close to 9% in the early morning trade.
