KTPS second unit closed for repair works

KOTA: Generation of power from the sixth unit of the Kota Thermal Power Station was stalled today till July 18 for conducting annual repair works.
The closure of the plant's sixth unit has been made after annual maintenance work in the second unit was completed and it started power generation from Saturday, KTPS Chief Engineer T K Bardia said on Monday.
However, closure of the unit would not affect power supply to the nearby areas, he added.
Maintenance and repair work would be conducted in all units of KTPS and they would be shut down one-by-one after electricity generation from the sixth unit commences, which is currently ongoing repairing, he added.
