THIRUVANTHAPURAM: Taking serious note of the alleged encroachment into the Kerala state Electricity Board property in Munnar in Idukki district, power minister A K Balan today said KSEB Vigilance IG Mageshkumar Singhala would conduct a probe into it and submit a report in three weeks.
Further steps to evict the encroachers from KSEB land would be taken after getting the report. Singhala would verify the documents of occupants in KSEB land to know whether they were forged or genuine, balan told a press conference here.
The minister, who recently visited the encroachments in different parts of Munnar, said a total of 250 acres of KSEB land had been encroached upon by 178 persons.
He alleged that encroachers included the relatives of former revenue minister and KC-M leader K M Mani.
Balan said encroachers had occupied even main catchment area and the 'free boll land' of Pallivasalan Hydel reservoir.
