Jharkhand government approves Rs 1454 crore for Power Grid to strengthen electricity situation

Jharkhand today approved Rs 1454.10 crore to the Power Grid Corporation Limited (PGCL) to strengthen electricity situation in the state.

RANCHI: Jharkhand today approved Rs 1454.10 crore to the Power Grid Corporation Limited (PGCL) to strengthen electricity situation in the state.

The cabinet, chaired by Chief Minister Arjun Munda, approved it to the PGCL for laying transmission lines and setting up larger transformers across the state, Cabinet Secretary N N Pandey told reporters here.

It has approved Rs 143.88 crore as advance money to PGCL. The cabinet decided to meet the expenses through taking loan from the Rural Electrification Corporation and raising a part from state planning, Pandey added.
