IOC, GAIL, BPCL to supply RLNG to Bawana power plant

IOC, GAIL and BPCL will each supply one-third of the power plant's total RLNG requirement of 1.65 million tons per annum, IOC and GAIL said in separate press releases here.
Petronet LNG will import the gas which will be transported to the power plant through a GAIL pipeline.
IOC, GAIL and BPCL inked a Gas Sales Agreement (GSA) with Pragati Power Corporation Ltd (PPCL) to supply 2 million standard cubic meters per day of R-LNG.
The gas supply for a 1,500 MW Combined Cycle Gas Turbine Power Project will commence from October 2009 and the validity of this agreement will be till the year 2024. The power plant is expected to be fully commissioned by October 2010 to supply power to Delhi before the Common Wealth Games.
Speaking on the occasion, Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit said the project will be completed before the Commonwealth Games.
