Hooda keen to set up electrical unit at Sonepat

Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda on Sunday said that he has urged Prime Minister, Dr Manmohan Singh to get a heavy electrical equipments manufacturing unit set up at a cost of Rs 6000 crore at Sonepat.

CHANDIGARH: Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda on Sunday said that he has urged Prime Minister, Dr Manmohan Singh to get a heavy electrical equipments manufacturing unit set up at a cost of Rs 6000 crore at Sonepat by Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited and National Thermal Power Corporation.

The Chief Minister was redressing the grievances of the people in Rohtak today.

He said that with the setting up of this unit in Sonepat, 6000 people would get direct employment and 30,000 others would be indirectly employed.

He said that it has been decided to provide smart cards from July 1 next to families living below the poverty line so as to improve their socio-economic status.

The data concerning the ration card holders including those living above poverty line, below poverty line and Antyodaya Anna Yojana(AAY) would be digitalized from July 1.

Also, smart transaction terminals would be set up at fair price shops to provide the facility of getting essential commodities through smart cards.

The card would have a bio-metric chip to ensure that the genuine beneficiary is benefitted.
