Honour PPAs, Piyush Goyal tells Delhi government

The Delhi government can shut down two power plants in the state if they commit to paying the fixed costs, Power Minister Piyush Goyal has said.

NEW DELHI: The Delhi government can shut down two power plants in the state if they commit to paying the fixed costs, Power Minister Piyush Goyal has said.

"Every government has to honor the PPAs (power purchase agreements)," Goyal said on Friday.

The Delhi government has decided to shut down NTPC's Badarpur plant and Delhi government-owned Raghat power plant to curb pollution.
