Haryana to transfer power sub-stations

The Haryana government has decided to hand over all 66-KV sub-stations of Haryana Vidyut Prasaran Nigam to two electricity distribution companies to ensure efficient power supply in the state.

CHANDIGARH: The Haryana government has decided to hand over all 66-KV sub-stations of Haryana Vidyut Prasaran Nigam to two electricity distribution companies to ensure efficient power supply in the state.

Haryana Power Minister Randeep Singh Surjewala said that the state government has decided to transfer the sub stations to power distribution companies Uttar Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam and Dakshin Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam.

He said that it would ensure efficient power supply to the consumers and effective implementation of the regulatory measures for equal distribution of power.

He added that staff posted at these stations would also be transferred to these companies.

"The state government had taken many steps to improve the availability of the power an a number of projects were in the pipeline which would generate additional 5,000 MW of power in the state by 2010," he said.
