Al-Kaabi reaffirmed Qatar’s commitment to remain a reliable energy supplier to India and expressed interest in strengthening long-term energy ties.

During the visit, Puri also conveyed greetings and a message of solidarity on behalf of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani and Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani.

He recalled recent telephonic conversations between Modi and the Qatari leadership in March 2026, where both sides had underscored the need to restore peace and stability in the region through dialogue and diplomacy. The Indian side also conveyed appreciation for Qatar’s support to the Indian community.

Talks between the two sides covered a wide range of issues, including trade, investment, cultural exchanges and people-to-people ties, alongside high-level engagements. Both sides expressed hope for an early return of stability in the region and reiterated their intent to further strengthen bilateral relations.

Welcoming the two-week ceasefire agreed on April 8, the discussions also highlighted the importance of restoring normalcy in global energy supplies and ensuring uninterrupted maritime trade. The leaders stressed the need for unimpeded freedom of navigation and the smooth flow of global commerce to sustain supply chains.
