Govt has not decided to hike power tariff: Kerala Minister

KOZHIKODE: Kerala Electricity Minister Aryadan Mohammed on Saturday said the state government had not taken any decision to hike the electricity tariff.

In a brief talk with reporters here, Mohammed said the Kerala State Electricity Board was facing financial problems. Board's request for a hike in power tariff was lying with the Regulatory Commission, he said.

On the Athirampally hydel project, Mohammed said "I cannot say whether the project will come or not. It will be studied thoroughly before any decision is taken."
