Government calls bids for Rs 500 crore power transmission projects

These projects are being built under built-operate-own-maintain model where a bidder with lowest tariff is given license to develop the project.

NEW DELHI: The government has invited global bids for two transmission projects worth Rs 505 crore.

PFC Consulting Ltd, one of the nodal agencies for bidding the projects, has invited bids for Northern Region Strengthening Scheme envisaging an investment of Rs 260 crore and transmission system worth Rs 245 crore for Tanda expansion scheme.

The last date for submission of the preliminary bids is October 25, 2013.

These projects are being built under built-operate-own-maintain model where a bidder with lowest tariff is given license to develop the project and provide transmission service to state owned distribution companies.
