Government appoints engineers for monitoring of IT implementation in state discoms

These engineers, called Urban Vidyut Abhiyantas, will monitor the implementation of the Centre's Rs 65,424 crore Integrated Power Development Scheme.

NEW DELHI: The government has appointed 50 young professionals to assist state power distribution companies in monitoring the implementation of technology to bring down technical and commercial losses.

These engineers, called Urban Vidyut Abhiyantas, will monitor the implementation of the Centre's Rs 65,424 crore Integrated Power Development Scheme. They will also support the discoms in strengthening urban distribution system and in IT-enablement initiatives.
