Crompton's Ultra High Voltage R&D centre to come up in Nashik
Aimed at enhancing self reliance in the power sector, Crompton Greaves Ltd announced setting up of a Ultra High Voltage (1200 kv) research center at Nashik.
Having achieved leadership position in the manufacture of high voltage power products up to 800 kv, now we are setting up this Ultra High Voltage (UHV) research centre in city's ambad industrial estate plan, S M Trehan, Managing Director CGL said today.
Talking to reporters here after performing 'bhoomi pooja' and laying foundation stone of UHV research centre, Trehan said this is indeed a momentous occasion for CGL and the research activities planned here would tremendously enhance the technological capabilities of CGL in the advanced technological arena.
The company is making initial investment of Rs 40 crore for the centre and will further augment the infrastructure in next three years by spending additional Rs 20 crore, he said.
