Commissioning of ONGC's Palatana unit likely to be delayed

Commissioning of 1st uit of ONGC's 726.6 MW Gas Based Combined Cycle Power Project at Palatana is likely to be delayed by at least by 2 months.

GUWAHATI: The commissioning of first unit of ONGC's 726.6 MW Gas Based Combined Cycle Power Project at Palatana in Tripura is likely to be delayed by at least by two months.

Assam power minister, Pradyut Bordoloi on Thursday said "The first unit of Palatana was slated to be commissioned in June however it has got delayed and the first unit will be commissioned by end of August."

Assam is waiting for the project as power from project is expected to tide over its power crisis. The state is slated to get 240MW from this ONGC's first power venture.

Bordoloi added, "I am going to visit Tripura shortly to take stock of development. Power is a major headache in Northeast India."
