KOLKATA: CESC Ltd on Monday said it will cover its entire service area with new improvised call centres for speedy and effective redressal of complaints.

"Currently, we have call centres for South and Central Kolkata areas only but by this December we hope to cover the entire service area," CESC Executive Director (Corporate Development) Santunu Chatterjee said here on Monday.

New call centres are being introduced for better complaint management, he said.

Police stations under which the FIRs were lodged were Jorasanko, Narkeldanga, Shibpur, Metiabruz and Garden Reach.

Basu said that power pilferage by roadside stalls and festival organizers is lower except in Serampore area. However, organizers, by and large, are cooperating with the police and CESC to ensure that there is no violation of law, he said.

FIRs against Durga Puja during the current year were down to 115 against 413 FIRs lodged in 2005. CESC received 1808 applications for Kali puja.
