Central power producers allowed to transfer coal supplies to new plants in different states

The government has modified the policy for automatic transfer of coal linkage to old plants while scrapping and replacing them with new plants.

NEW DELHI: Central power generating companies will now be able to transfer coal supplies from Coal India from scrapped plants to new plants set up in different states.

The government has modified the policy for automatic transfer of coal linkage to old plants while scrapping and replacing them with new plants.

Earlier, the transfer was allowed only if the new plant was being set up in the same state as the scrapped plant.
