Cabinet likely to consider bid documents for domestic coal-based UMPPs next week

NEW DELHI : The Union Cabinet is likely to consider bid documents for domestic coal-based ultra mega power projects ( UMPPs) in its meeting next week, sources said.

Once the documents are approved by the Cabinet, the power ministry will auction bids for the UMPPs, they said.

Power Secretary PK Pujari said the bid documents have been placed before the Cabinet for its consideration. He said three domestic coal-based UMPPs in Odisha, Jharkhand and Bihar are being considered for auction.
