British Telecom on Tuesday said it aims to meet 80 per cent reduction target in carbon emissions by 2020 in 170 countries, including India, where it has a presence.
NEW DELHI: British Telecom on Tuesday said it aims to meet 80 per cent reduction target in carbon emissions by 2020 in 170 countries, including India, where it has a presence.
"BT intends to meet the 80 per cent reduction target through a continued combination of energy efficiency, on-site renewable generation (aiming for 25 per cent of its UK electricity to come from dedicated wind turbines by 2016) and purchased low-carbon electricity," the company said in a statement.
The company also announced a new model aimed at helping corporations measure and track their carbon emissions, help promote a reduction in emissions.
Developed by BT Director of Sustainable Development Chris Tuppen, the new model aims to link a company's carbon emissions with its financial performance.
