BHEL secures Rs 2,475 cr contract for 600 MW thermal set
Power equipment manufacturer Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd has won a Rs 2,475 crore order for setting up a 600 MW thermal power generating unit in Tamil Nadu.
The engineering, procurement and construction contract for a 600 MW thermal power generating unit has been secured from Tamil Nadu Electricity Board (TNEB).
"This is the first-ever order secured by BHEL for the new rating unit of 600 MW designed to sub-critical parameters," BHEL said in a statement.
The boiler and auxiliaries would be manufactured by the company at its Tiruchirapalli and Ranipet facilities in Tamil Nadu, while the steam turbine and generator would be supplied be manufactured from Haridwar plant.
BHEL and TNEB had recently signed a Memorandum of Understanding for formation of a joint venture company for setting up a 2x800 MW supercritical thermal power project in Tamil Nadu at a cost of Rs 8,500 crore.
