BHEL commissions Karnataka's largest solar power plant

The Electronics Division of Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd has commissioned the 5-MW eco-friendly grid connected solar power plant at Shivanasamudram near Mandya in Karnataka.

BANGALORE: The Electronics Division of Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd has commissioned the 5-MW eco-friendly grid connected solar power plant at Shivanasamudram near Mandya in Karnataka.

This is the largest solar PV power plant executed by BHEL for Karnataka Power Corporation Ltd (KPCL), the company said in a release here today.

BHEL will also operate and maintain the solar power plant for three years, it said.

The SPV Plant has been built using Crystalline Silicon Photovoltaic (C-SI PV) technology, which is well proven and has the longest operational experience across the world, it added.
