Baspa plant resumes power generation

The 300 MW Baspa hydro-power project in Sangla area of tribal Kinnaur district of Himachal Pradesh resumed power generation this afternoon, project authorities said.


SHIMLA: The 300 MW Baspa hydro-power project in Sangla area of tribal Kinnaur district of Himachal Pradesh resumed power generation this afternoon, project authorities said.

The project remained closed on July 6 and 7 and again on July 9 and resumption of power generation had come as a great relief to Baddi and Nalagarh industrial areas of Solan district.

However, the Karcham-Sangla road, which breached at three places due to heavy rains yesterday, remained closed on Monday, cutting off Sangla and Chitkul from rest of the state.
