New Delhi: Bajaj Group firm Bajel Projects Ltd said it has signed an agreement with the Egyptian Electricity Transmission Company (EETC) on Wednesday for transmission line projects.

The agreement has been signed for two contiguous sections - Lot 1 and Lot 5 - of a 500 kV Overhead Transmission Line, a statement said.

The combined order falls under the ultra-mega category, valued at over Rs 400 crore, and forms part of a flagship national grid reinforcement programme aimed at strengthening Egypt's high voltage transmission backbone and enabling reliable power evacuation to support the country's growing economic and industrial demand.

Rajesh Ganesh, Managing Director & CEO of Bajel Projects, said, "Being entrusted with a 500 kV transmission corridor in the MENA region reflects the global confidence in our engineering capability, project execution rigour, and ability to deliver complex high-voltage infrastructure in international markets."

It builds on the company's growing MENA presence, including its 50:50 joint venture with the Al Sharif Group in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the recently launched subsidiary in Abu Dhabi, UAE, Ganesh said.
