The platform, August Energeia, will primarily focus on cooling-as-a-service (CaaS), while also financing and deploying upgrades across cooling, heating, steam, compressed air, fuel switching and motor-driven systems. It will also support renewable energy deployment, including solar, wind and energy storage.

Under the energy-as-a-service model, August Energeia will finance, implement and manage energy infrastructure for customers, with project economics linked to the energy savings and performance delivered. This will allow factories and commercial buildings to modernise energy-intensive infrastructure without diverting capital from core business expansion.
The platform will target energy-intensive sectors including pharmaceuticals, automotive, food and beverage, chemicals, cement, steel, hospitality, healthcare, data centres, real estate investment trusts and commercial real estate.

“The technology to optimise and decarbonise Indian factories and buildings has been ready for years, but high upfront prices, energy savings uncertainty and L1 procurement mandates drastically limited adoption,” said Sookrit Malik, co-founder and CEO, Energeia.
Vishal Jain, co-founder and head of India at August Energy, said the partnership aims to allow businesses to improve energy efficiency and resilience without diverting capital from their core operations.
The partnership will also enable customers to evaluate energy-efficient technologies based on lifecycle energy performance and total cost of ownership rather than upfront purchase price, potentially accelerating the deployment of higher-efficiency equipment.
