Aravali Power to get fresh government equity of Rs 54 crore

Delhi Government today decided to infuse Rs 54 crore as fresh equity into Aravali Power Company Private Ltd which is setting up a 500 MW power plant in Jhajjar in Haryana.

NEW DELHI: Delhi Government today decided to infuse Rs 54 crore as fresh equity into Aravali Power Company Private Ltd which is setting up a 500 MW power plant in Jhajjar in Haryana.

The decision to infuse the fresh equity into the company was taken at a cabinet meeting presided by Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit.

Aravali Power Company Private Ltd (APCPL) is a joint venture between NTPC, Indraprastha Power Generation Company Ltd of Delhi Government and Haryana Power Generation Company Ltd.

Delhi government had decided to invest in the plant on the condition that power from it would be supplied to the national capital.

The cabinet is also believed to have discussed the issue of hanging of Afzal Guru.
