Ansal forays into power sector with 12 MW wind farm
Realty player Ansal Properties and Infrastructure Ltd today announced its foray into the power sector with the establishment of a 12 MW wind energy farm in Gujarat at an investment of over Rs 72 crore.

NEW DELHI: Realty player Ansal Properties and Infrastructure Ltd today announced its foray into the power sector with the establishment of a 12 MW wind energy farm in Gujarat at an investment of over Rs 72 crore.
The company had amended its objects clause to diversify into the power sector after receiving its shareholders' approval, it informed the Bombay Stock Exchange.
"The wind energy farm consists of 8 turbines of 1.5 MW and was set up in four months time. The company incurred a fixed cost of Rs 6 crore per MW," Ansal API Executive Director V K Saigal told the media.
The farm in Kutch is at present supplying power to Gujarat State Electricity Board. However, the company plans to utilise the energy for supplying in its various townships and other projects, he added.
The equipment for the wind farm was sourced from Suzlon Energy. The company also expects to earn 25,000 carbon credit points a year through the project.
The NCR-based Ansal API has presence in all the verticals of real estate that includes residential, offices, retail, hotels, IT Parks, SEZs and townships. It has plans to foray into the airport sector.
The company has recently tied up with Malaysia's UEM Builders for foray into the engineering and construction business.
