Ambitious plan to strengthen power network in Rohtak

The Haryana government has made an ambitious plan to further strengthen the transmission and distribution network of electricity in Rohtak district.

ROHTAK: The Haryana government has made an ambitious plan to further strengthen the transmission and distribution network of electricity in Rohtak district under which Rs 80 crore would be spent during the next 18 months, Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda said on Sunday.

Speaking after inaugurating a Rs 2.88 crore 33 KV power sub-station at Baniyani near here, Hooda said that Haryana registers around fourteen per cent growth in power consumption every year due to rapid industrialisation and urbanisation.

Plans have been made to bridge the gap between demand and supply of power and for this topmost priority has been given to the power sector, he said.

He said that the shortage of electricity would be less if people come forward and use energy efficient electrical gadgets.
