Alstom T&D India bags Rs 225 crore Power Grid Corporation contracts

Alstom T&D India has bagged two contracts worth Rs 225 crore from Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd setting up transformers.

NEW DELHI: Alstom T&D India has bagged two contracts worth Rs 225 crore from Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd setting up transformers.

The contracts involve supply and commissioning of transformers at substations at Ranchi in Jharkhand, Dharamjaygarh in Chhattisgarh and Aurangabad in Maharashtra, an official statement said.

The project will help in establishing transmission systems for upcoming independent power producer (IPP) projects and efficient bulk power evacuation, the statement said.

The transformers will be delivered from Alstom T&D India's manufacturing facility at Vadodara in Gujarat. Alstom T&D India managing director Rathin Basu said, "These new contract are an opportunity for us to associate with Power Grid in strengthening the backbone of the country."
