Alstom T&D India bags Rs 158 crpre contract

NEW DELHI: Alstom T&D India has received a contract worth Rs 158 crore from Meja Urja Nigam Pvt Ltd, a joint venture company of NTPC and Uttar Pradesh Rajya Vidyut Utpadan Nigam Ltd (UPRVUNL) for commissioning of a substation at Meja, Allahabad.

Scope of work for this 400 KV substation includes delivery of generator transformers, interconnecting transformers, shunt reactors, circuit breakers, instrument transformers and substation automation system.

All products will be delivered from company's facilities located at Naini in Uttar Pradesh, Padappai, Hosur and Pallavaram in Tamil Nadu, an official statement said.

In India 28 out of 40 substations at 765 kV, which are currently being built or in operation, are equipped with Alstom Grid technology, the statement said.
