Alstom Projects bags Rs 44 cr contract

Power equipment supplier Alstom Projects India Ltd has bagged a Rs 44 crore contract to supply equipment for a hydroelectric project in the south east Asian country of Lao.

NEW DELHI: Power equipment supplier Alstom Projects India Ltd has bagged a Rs 44 crore contract to supply equipment for a hydroelectric project in the south east Asian country of Lao.
The contract for supplying hydro-mechanical equipment to Nam Mgum 2 project was signed with Ch Karnchang (Lao) Co Ltd in Lao capital Vientiane. The project is to be completed in 43 months, an Alstom release said.
Karnchang, a subsidiary of Thailand's Ch Karnchang Public Co Ltd, is the turnkey contractor for the project.
This is the second export order won by Alstom for hydro-mechanical equipment, the first being Gurara project in Nigeria, the release said.
