Alstom produces its 200th 765kV transformer and reactor

Alstom has produced its 200th unit of the 765kV transformer and reactor from its facility at Vadodara in Gujarat.

KOLKATA: Alstom has produced its 200th unit of the 765kV transformer and reactor from its facility at Vadodara in Gujarat.

Since its inception in March 2009, this plant has gradually ramped up its production capabilities, the company said in a statement.

“This is an outstanding achievement for Alstom and a great contribution towards the ‘Make in India’ spirit of the country,” Rathin Basu, managing director of Alstom T&D India, said in the statement. “The company remains committed to the growth and advancement of India’s transmission system.”

Alstom supplies its transformers to Power Grid Corporation of India and state utilities including Uttar Pradesh Power Transmission Company, Rajasthan Rajya Vidyut Prasaran Nigam and Maharashtra State Electricity Transmission Company, apart from independent power producers such as Larsen & Toubro and Essar.
