Adani Transmission now Adani Energy Solutions

Mumbai: Adani Group's power transmission and distribution arm, Adani Transmission Ltd, has undergone a name change and will now be known as Adani Energy Solutions Ltd. The name change is with effect Thursday, the country's largest private transmission company said in a regulatory filing.

In the company's annual report for FY23, managing director Anil Sardana said that the renaming was warranted by the company's entry into the power distribution space following the acquisition of the power distribution business of Reliance Infrastructure, subsequent expansion and the application of a parallel licence in Maharashtra and Uttar Pradesh and the proposed likelihood of various initiatives expected to lead the company into a new future.

The company's shares closed 1.12% lower at ₹805.30 Thursday on the BSE Thursday, where the benchmark Sensex ended 0.66% lower.
