50MW solar thermal power plant comissioned in Andhra Pradesh

HYDERABAD: MGPL, part of city-base Megha Engineering Infrastructures Limited (MEIL) today announced commissioning of its 50MW solar thermal power plant, built at a cost of Rs 848 crore in Andhra Pradesh.

Spread over an area of 600 acres, the plant in Anantpur district contributes 110 million units of Solar Power.

This is directly and indirectly helpful to Andhra Pradesh and Telangana state as NTPC allocates four times additional 440 million units of Thermal power from unallocated central quota to both states, MGPL said in statement.

This is the largest investment in Solar industry in South India so far, it added.
