Ujjwala Yojana key task for the government: Economic Survey 2019

New Delhi: Ensuring that Ujjwala Yojana beneficiaries keep using clean cooking gas is a key task for the government, the Economic Survey has said.

“Government of India initiated a big step in the form of the Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana, providing access to around 7 crore households under the scheme. The task now is to ensure that households with LPG continue to use the clean fuel for cooking purposes through continued refilling,” the Survey said.

Ujjwala Yojana, which was launched in 2016-17, targets to enrol a total of 8 crore households.
