Supreme Court to hear RIL gas pricing case Tomorrow

Though the case was listed for Wednesday, the bench could not hear it as it had to complete hearing another partially heard case.

NEW DELHI A new bench of the Supreme Court, comprising Justices BS Chauhan and Jasti Chelameswar, will hear two petitions on the RIL gas pricing issue on Thursday. Though the case was listed for Wednesday, the bench could not hear it as it had to complete hearing another partially heard case.

A bench led by the CJI had earlier issued notices on the petitions filed by NGO Common Cause and another by CPI leader Gurudas Dasgupta challenging among other things the recent government move to hike gas prices to double the current level of $4.20 per unit. Common Cause’s case is being argued by AAP leader and lawyer Prashant Bhushan.
