RPL shareholders vote on RIL-RPL merger, result tomorrow

Shareholders, secured and unsecured creditors of Mukesh Ambani-led Reliance Petroleum Ltd (RPL), met at Jamnagar today in an extra-ordinary general meeting (EGM) to vote on its merger with Reliance Industries.

AHMEDABAD: Shareholders, secured and unsecured creditors of Mukesh Ambani-led Reliance Petroleum Ltd (RPL), met at Jamnagar today in an extra-ordinary general meeting (EGM) to vote on its merger with Reliance Industries.

Justice S D Dave, a retired Gujarat High Court judge, presided over the meeting in which a resolution regarding the proposed merger was put to vote.

Those who attended the meeting are understood to have given their opinion on the proposed merger through ballot, counting of which would be done tomorrow.

After the counting is over, Justice Dave will prepare a report regarding the proceedings of the meeting and result of the ballots and subsequently, the report will be placed before the Gujarat High Court.

Justice Dave is expected to place his report before the High Court next week.

It may be noted that a similar meeting of RIL share holders, secured creditors and unsecured creditors, regarding the proposed merger, was held in Mumbai last week.
