RIL to start commercial prod of gas in Q1 2010

NEW DELHI: Reliance Industries will start commercial production of gas in Q1 of 2009-10, its Chairman Mukesh Ambani said.

RIL will produce 5.5 million tonnes of oil & gas (equivalent) in the next 6-8 quarters to account for 40-45 per cent of domestic oil & gas production. The company aims to become single largest deep-water producer, he said.

There is a huge potential of oil and gas not only in KG basin, but also in Mahanadi and in Cauvery in east coast, he added. All these will account for up to 90 per cent of RIL production, Ambani said.
