Plea to allot cooking gas agencies on panchayat basis

All India Ration Dealers Association has demanded to allot new cooking gas agencies on panchayat basis with a view to solve its shortage.

KOTTAYAM: All India Ration Dealers Association has demanded to allot new cooking gas agencies on panchayat basis with a view to solve its shortage and the responsibility of its distribution be handed over to civil supplies department.

Speaking to reporters here today, AIRDA general secretary Babychen Mukkadan said the state government and the members of Parliament should pressurise the Centre to increase the number of gas agencies.

He said the Kerala was experiencing shortage of cooking gas.

A memorandum would be submitted to Petroleum and Natural Gas Minister Murli Deora on November 16 at New Delhi by the association president P C Thomas, MP.
