'ONGC striving to get 'maharatna' status in CSR'

Oil exploration major ONGC which has been given the status of a 'maharatna' by the government will be striving to get the same status in CSR.

RAJAHMUNDRY (AP): Oil exploration major ONGC which has been given the status of a ' maharatna' by the government will be striving to get the same status in Corporate Social Responsibility ( CSR) as well, A A Khan, Executive Director, ONGC Rajahmundry Asset said on Tuesday.

Speaking at a function here, he said ONGC would be keen to support innovative and result-oriented initiatives in its operational areas like Konaseema.

J A Kumar, General Manager-Human Resources, informed that ONGC Rajahmundry annually spends around Rs 2 crore in Konaseema area alone under CSR.

Women empowerment and entrepreneurship programmes is a high priority for the company, he said.
