ONGC proposes JV with Russia's Roseneft, Gazprom

Oil and Natural Gas Corporation Ltd (ONGC) has proposed a joint venture with Russia's Roseneft and Gazprom for exploration of oil and gas in Russia, particularly in the Siberian region.

NEW DELHI: Oil and Natural Gas Corporation Ltd (ONGC) has proposed a joint venture with Russia's Roseneft and Gazprom for exploration of oil and gas in Russia, particularly in the Siberian region.

"They have proposed a 49:51 exploration venture with the Russian companies," ONGC Videsh Ltd (OVL) Managing Director R S Butola said.

The venture proposed by ONGC was similar to the one entered into by Roseneft and China's CNPC.

Butola said OVL also proposes to join Roseneft in bidding for Sakhalin III project in far east Russia.
