NEW DELHI: State-run ONGC's Hazira gas-processing plant has bagged the 'Oil Industry Safety Award' for the year 2005-06 for its commitment to excel with focus on development in a safe and environment-friendly manner.
The award is in recognition of the corporation's unique distinction of having all its operational installations accredited for quality, health, safety and environment management, an ONGC release said here on Thursday.
The award, announced by Oil Industry Safety Directorate under the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas, was presented by Union Minister Murli Deora on November 10 at Mumbai.
Hazira plant, the biggest gas-processing plant of India, restored operational normalcy, 22 days ahead of schedule after the plant faced one of the worst floods in August.
