NEW DELHI: Indian Geological Congress, billed as a platform to popularise geosciences, will have a new man at the helm of affairs with D K Pande, Director (Exploration) of state-run Oil and Natural Gas Corp is all set to head the organisation.
Pande replaces S Asokan, Chief of Titania Project, Tata Steel, a release issued by ONGC said.
"IGC is a good forum to popularise geosciences among students so that sufficient skilled manpower is available for the petroleum industry," Pande said at a meeting of the Executive Council of the Indian Geological Congress (IGC) in Dehradun on Monday.
