ONGC awards $162-million contract to UAE firm

The contract value is approximately USD 162 million, UAE's official news agency, Wam has said.

DUBAI: India's oil exploration firm ONGC has awarded an USD 162-million (over Rs 753 crore) engineering and construction contract for an oil well platform project at the Mumbai High Field to Abu Dhabi-based National Petroleum Construction Company (NPCC), UAE's official news agency Wam has said.

The contract value is approximately USD 162 million, UAE's official news agency, Wam has said.

The work will consist of survey, design and detailed engineering, procurement, fabrication, transportation, installation, hook-up, pre-commissioning and commissioning of under-sea pipelines and composite under-sea cables. The project will be completed by April 2011.

In October this year, NPCC signed a contract with ONGC for the construction of B-22-3 Wellhead Platforms with pipeline and modification works. The contract value is approximately 1 billion dirhams and the project is to be completed by April 2011, Aqeel Madhi, NPCC Chief Executive Officer, said.

NPCC has executed several mega EPC projects for ONGC in the past and the most recent being the 4 Wellhead Platforms Project -2 completed in April 2007 and C-Series Wellhead Platforms Project completed in April 2009. NPCC geared up to meet the challenging task of completing both newly awarded RS-12 Well Platform Project and recently awarded B-22 Field Development Project within deadline.
