Oil & Gas Minister Dharmendra Pradhan hails quick registration of DBTL in Odisha

BHUBANESWAR: Expressing satisfaction at quick registration of Direct Benefit Transfer of LPG in Odisha, Oil and Natural Gas Minister Dharmendra Pradhan today said he was optimistic about seeing all LPG consumers in the state getting the benefits of subsidy by the end of January.

Though the pace of registration of DBTL in Odisha was not very encouraging barely 20 days ago, it has picked up and reached the level of national average by today, Pradhan said.

"The ratio of registration of DBTL in Odisha is 30 per cent against the national average of 40 per cent. The ratio was only 12 per cent 20 days ago," Pradhan told reporters after reviewing the progress of DBTL registration with the district collectors, oil marketing agencies, bank managers and others through video conferencing.

Pradhan visited Keonjhar and Balasore districts during the day.

Ahead of the country-wide launch of DBTL scheme from January 1, 2015, Pradhan said the number of subsidised gas consumers was gradually increasing.

The deadline for the implementation of DBTL scheme across the country is March 31 next year.
