Oil cos told to end pricing talks soon

MoP&NG has asked MRPL to take higher quantities of crude from Cairn India's Rajasthan oilfield, and conclude price negotiations within a fortnight so that production can start from the oilfields.

KOLKATA: The Union ministry of petroleum & natural gas (MoP&NG) has asked Mangalore Refinery & Petrochemicals (MRPL) to take higher quantities of crude from Cairn India���s Rajasthan oilfield, and conclude price negotiations within a fortnight so that production can start from the oilfields, reports Debjoy Sengupta.

It has also asked IOC and HPCL to conclude price negotiations within the same time.

In 2005, the Centre had nominated MRPL to purchase the entire crude from the Rajasthan field. Due to the inability of MRPL to lift the entire crude, the Centre revised nomination of PSU refineries for lifting part of the crude from the block.
